Decoding the AI Act: European Standards and the Future of AI Regulation

The Nordic national standardization bodies are arranging this session on the EU AI Act and the future of European AI regulation in a Nordic collaboration. Join us for a session to explore the status of the EU AI Act and the coming harmonized standards.

Overview

The background for arranging this event is that the European Union adopted the AI Act in August 2024 . Starting in February 2025, AI systems with unacceptable risk will be banned from Europe, and in August 2026, high-risk AI systems will have to comply with requirements related to risk management, data quality, governance, logging and traceability, technical documentation, transparency, human oversight, accuracy, robustness, and cybersecurity.

Currently, the European standardization organizations CEN and CENELEC are drafting the necessary AI standards on these critical areas following a standardisation request from the European Commission.

In this webinar, we’ll explore the status of the AI Act and the harmonized standards. The speakers will guide us through current developments and discuss what organisations need to know to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

Why attend?

Join us to stay informed and equipped to navigate the AI regulatory environment in Europe.

With AI adoption accelerating, the EU AI Act and the future harmonized standards are aimed at ensuring safe, ethical, and transparent AI. Although developing these standards is complex and ongoing, European experts are working determinedly to create standards that offer companies a clear path to compliance.

The role of future harmonized AI standards extends beyond Europe; they set the groundwork for global alignment on AI ethics and governance.
